Rebuilding Bungamati Project Showcased at Park Gallery

Rebuilding Bungamati

Rebuilding Bungamti project which was initiated by Kathmandu University, School of Arts, Center for Art and Design with the support of individuals and other organizations with their activities were showcased at Park Gallery, Pulchowk. The team builds a temporary shelter located at Bungamati and different other activities were done. Activities like outreach programs for children and sanitation programs were approached. Collaborative performance art was achieved with Mr. Salil Subedi and the Students of KU art + Design and their video documentation and photographs were also a part of the exhibition. Digital Storytelling, another project where the students’ effort for documenting the people and their historical background were projected. The various new fonts created by our Graphic Communication students ‘Bungamati’, ‘Bhoto Jatra’, ‘Amarapur’, ‘Machhendranath’, ‘Kathmandu University’ and ‘Karunamaya’ were launched during the exhibition. Digital preservation of Bungamati where people could interact with the ambiance and the architecture was also included in the show. Digital preservation was initiated and successfully created by Mr. Sujan Shrestha, Prof. at the University of Baltimore.

This exhibition is dedicated to Bungamati where all the glimpses of photographs, thematic works, designs, documentation, and digital archiving were presented.
