KATHMANDU, June 11:Kathmandu University School of Arts and UNDP’s Support to Participatory Constitution Building in Nepal project (SPCBN) is jointly organizing an art exhibition, A Federal Life, with a focus on issues surrounding the concept of federalism in Nepal.

This contemporary art exhibition will comprise the works of 22 young artists and is scheduled to take place at Yala Maya Kendra in Patan Dokha. The works in the exhibition are the result of a two-day residential workshop on Federalism and a month’s hard work.

The workshop, which was held in Nagarkot during the month of May, educated local artists on the concept of federalism, the federal debate in Nepal and explore linkages between art and politics. The workshop was moderated by Sujan Chitrakar of KU School of Arts while Prof Krishna Khanal and Budhi Karki of SPCBN, helped to inform about and clarify the federal idea. Prof Abhi Subedi and well known artist, Ashmina Ranjit also facilitated the discussion on the linkages between art and politics.

The 22 artists include Aditya Aryal, Anita Khanal, Bhawana Ghimirey, Bidhata KC, Ishan Pariya, Karma Chhetu Gurung, Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Milan Lama, Muna Bhadel, Nhooja Tuladhar, Pramesh Sherchan, Rabin Maharjan, Rabindra Kumar Shrestha, Roshan Sakha, Saran Tandukar, Shankar Son Shrestha, Shiva Prasad Upadhyaya, Shraddha Shrestha, Shreejana Shakya, Sudeep Prasad Balla, Supriya Manandhar and Suresh Maharjan.
