Capturing the essence of Bandipur

Capturing the essence of Bandipur
Kathmandu University, School of Arts, Department of Art and Design scheduled a field trip to Bandipur as a part of the credit course from 25th February till 1st March 2019. Students of Second Year and Third year Second semester specialized in Studio Art was the part of the field trip which was led by the faculty member respectively as Ms. Pratima Thakali, Mr. Anil Shahi, and Mr. Sagar Manandhar.
Bandipur field trip was especially focused on the outdoor landscape project to enhance the observation skills and outdoor practice for the students. Center Bazar and other periphery areas of Bandipur was the main attraction for the students to capture the ambiance. Support from the local administration and people made the students come closer to achieve the project goals. It was a very unique adventure to Bandipur where the vibrancy of different moods was revealed. From sunshine to rain, swivel of the wind to moving clouds, and the glory of the rising sun make the students capture epic moments in their paintings.
The works produced were exhibited in Bandipur Bazar which was inaugurated by the chief guest Mr. Purna Singh Thapa, President of Village Rural Municipality committee. President of Padma Library of Bandipur Ms. Bimala Shrestha was also a part of the event as a special guest. The viewers along with the locals were very excited to perceive the painted Bandipur in the pictorial language.
