Painting
All students study painting in 1st and 2nd year of BFA. It becomes an alternative to Sculpture in the 3rd and 4th year of BFA.

In the early stages students use watercolour and gouache to achieve tonal effect and blend colours. Students will then proceed to Painting what they learnt about composition, perspective and human anatomy in the drawing class. They will learn to use oils and acrylics, how to prepare grounds, transparent effects etc. Some students may choose to do printmaking for Advanced Painting.Gradually students achieve artistic independence, selecting their own subjects and media. In the 3rd and 4th Year, Advanced Painting students will be encouraged to explore and experiment in wider visual possibilities.

By the end of the course we provide a lot of positive support and encouragement to the students to help them find their personal idiom.
