Bachelor of Fine ArtsA Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is designed to prepare students for careers in their preferred creative discipline or for succeeding in master programs.KUart’s curriculum highlights intensive studio practices, with foundation in basic techniques, followed by stages of innovation and critical learning, and culminating in the development of an independent visual idiom. Students earn a BFA degree in Graphic Design, Painting, Sculpture, Extra South Asian Arts Studies and Art in Education after completion of 4-year, 8-semesters course. Aims 1. To develop students’ creative abilities to produce original works of art and design. 2. To extend their knowledge and understanding of Nepalese Art and that of other civilizations. 3. To prepare them for professional careers and further training in Art and related subjects. Course Content Year 1/Year 2 Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, World Art Studies, South Asian Art, English, Nepali, Introduction to Photography, Introduction to Printmaking, Introduction to Graphic Design. Year 3: Drawing, Painting or Sculpture, World Art Studies, South Asian Art, Photography plus one of the following electives: Photography, Graphic Design, Contemporary Art Practice, Extra South Asian Art. Year 4: Other professional skills in addition to the course contents of the third year. Language of Instruction All lectures and written work are in English. Informal studio instructions are provided in Nepali or English. Timing The four-year course comprising of 8 semesters commence in August / September. Admission requirements An intermediate qualification, A Level / plus 2 in any subject or equivalent. Plus a practical drawing test, an English test and an interview. Course Fees Please see Tuition .
